Impact

Supporting the people who keep rural communities healthy

Our story

purpose.ground grew from Rural Health West – an organisation that has spent more than 35 years working to strengthen the health and wellbeing of rural and remote communities across Western Australia.

Along the way, we became pretty good at events.

For decades, our team has delivered conferences, workshops, education programs, symposia, forums and networking events across metropolitan, regional and remote WA.

purpose.ground takes that experience and puts it to work for organisations across Australia.

Our Vision
Healthy rural communities with access to high-quality healthcare

Our Mission
Ensure all rural communities in Western Australia have ready access to qualified and experienced health professionals.

Why a social enterprise?

Because good business can do good.

We saw an opportunity to use something we already do exceptionally well to create another source of support for rural health.

purpose.ground operates as a professional conference and event management business. But unlike a traditional commercial events company, our purpose extends beyond delivering great events.

As the business grows and generates profits, those profits can be reinvested into initiatives that support rural health professionals and the communities they serve.

So the more successful purpose.ground becomes, the more potential we have to make an impact.

How it works

  • Your event creates a ripple effect.
  • You engage purpose.ground.
  • We deliver an exceptional event.
  • Any profits generated create opportunities for Rural Health West to do more for rural health.
  • It is that simple.
  • Your conference might last a day or two. Its impact could last much longer.

What could that impact look like?

More opportunities. More connection. More support.

As purpose.ground grows, so too will the opportunities to reinvest in rural health.

  • That could mean helping future health professionals discover what a rural career has to offer through rural immersion experiences.
  • It could mean scholarships or sponsorships that help students and early-career health professionals take the next step in their rural journey.
  • It could help bring more education and professional development to health professionals working in rural and remote communities.
  • It could strengthen regional Health Professionals Networks that connect health professionals with each other, their communities and opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Or it could support new initiatives focused on the health and wellbeing of the people who care for rural communities.

Exactly where that investment goes will evolve as purpose.ground grows – but the purpose behind it will remain the same.
